SNOHOMISH -- A low-lying section of Highway 9 south of Snohomish reopened at about 4:30 p.m. to northbound traffic.
Flood waters have receded from the highway, and state officials had hoped to reopen the section between Second Street and E. Lowell-Larimer Road in time for today's evening commute.
Southbound cars are still being diverted to Airport Way and Springhetti Road. Officials hope to have southbound lanes open for the morning commute Tuesday.
State road crews on Saturday reopened a mile-long stretch of the highway between Second Street and Bickford Avenue in Snohomish after floodwaters receded.
