"Light a Light" for the City of Edmonds Youth Scholarship Fund

In the spirit of giving, light a light this holiday season for someone you love, something you wish for or in remembrance of a loved one.
Each light you light is a donation to the scholarship fund that enables local children to participate in our recreation programs who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to do so.
This year a living fir tree will be strung with lights and placed outside the entrance to the center.
Donate $5 per name and we'll note your donation on a main floor bulletin board inside the center. The tree will remain lit until January 4th.

Hand Drumming Fun
|
You can learn to play congas, djembes, ashikos and other hand drums in a friendly, supportive setting. It's fun! You'll also learn hand and stick drumming techniques, coordination, and timekeeping skills. You'll learn to recognize and play a variety of rhythmic patterns and signals, which we will combine to create multi-part ensemble rhythms.
Beginners welcome. Instruments provided.

Zai Circle invites you to this Musical Conversation for Peace exploring the cultural, generational, physical and metaphorical divide in multi-dimensional improvisations.

Peace. Culture. Religion. Tradition. As individuals we all have diverse views, opinions, and insights to each of these topics.
These differences can be subtle or vast. They can be the thing that binds two people together or that separates nations by war and conflict.
Is one voice louder-more correct-more important-than another? How does one person’s views effect and shape the others view.
If we do not talk about our differences can we really understand our similarities? Does our own voice obscure what could be a profound understanding of what is around us-of what we are, as individuals?
Dialogue 4 explores the question of clarity and obscurity with two drastically different “spoken and sung” voices, in contrast and in dialogue with a duo of rhythmic complexity including basses, and cultural stringed instruments, all driven by the response to the words and thoughts from the audience.

"Light a Light" for the City of Edmonds Youth Scholarship Fund
|
In the spirit of giving, light a light this holiday season for someone you love, something you wish for or in remembrance of a loved one.
Each light you light is a donation to the scholarship fund that enables local children to participate in our recreation programs who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to do so.
This year a living fir tree will be strung with lights and placed outside the entrance to the center.
Donate $5 per name and we'll note your donation on a main floor bulletin board inside the center. The tree will remain lit until January 4th.

The Nutcracker
|
The first of ten performances will take place at the Edmonds Center for the Arts on December 5th at 2:00 and 7:00 PM and December 6th at 3:00 PM. OBT then travels to the Byrnes Performing Arts Center in Arlington for December 13th at 2:00 PM. Olympic Ballet Theatre closes at the Everett Performing Arts Center at 2:00 PM on December 19th and 20th with a possible additional performance at 7:00 PM on December 19th. This production is well known for its child friendly, close and yet professional exciting performances.
Tickets for performances of The Nutcracker are on sale now. This production offers professional quality performances at an affordable price. Prices are $20 for children 10 and under, $25 for students and seniors, and $30 for adults at all venues. All seats are reserved.
