E-W headed to 4A district tournament

EDMONDS – Casey Hamlett scored six points in each of the final two quarters as Edmonds-Woodway pulled away to a 54-43 Wesco South win over Mountlake Terrace Friday night at the E-W gym.

The victory clinched a 4A District 1 playoff berth for the Warriors.

“That is one of the goals,” E-W coach Gail Pintler said.

“Our goal is to win one more game than last year, or the game we lost in the district.

“We still have to win the first two games at district. Now we’re there. It takes luck and hard work. That’s how you get there.”

Hamlett also had 12 rebounds and four assists.

Connor Donaldson led the Warriors with 17 points and eight rebounds.
