TULALIP — Like the pillow-top mattress?
It’s yours.
Is that plush armchair just what you’ve been looking for?
Take it with you!
From luxury linens to hand-carved fixtures, guests at the Tulalip Hotel will be welcome to tuck everything that catches their eye into their luggage.
For a price.
Guests at the hotel will be able to purchase anything in their rooms, from bathroom fixtures to wall sconces, from bed linens to draperies.
Though exact prices aren’t available yet, here’s a look at what guests can expect (see photos at right):
Some of the duvet covers in the hotel will be custom-made. They will be available for sale, but prices and fabrics will vary.
Pendant lamps will hang over each bedside table to allow for more space on the table for alarm clocks and personal belongings. The lamps’ bright hues are designed to match the rooms.
This is a 32-inch LG flat-screen television, but hotel planners are looking at a host of flat-screen TV models for the rooms, including a 46-inch Sharp Liquid Aquos, which is offered in stores for about $2,500.
“The bigger the TV is, the more luxurious it feels,” said Tyler Suddith, front desk manager for the Tulalip Hotel. “This will be a high-end TV.”
The hotel will have $1 million in artwork, with pieces displayed in each guest room and throughout the building. There will be an art gallery, staffed by an art curator, near the hotel’s lobby, and guests will have a chance to order pieces custom-made for their homes. All the artwork is made by tribal artists on the Tulalip Indian Reservation.
The Tulalip Hotel isn’t the only hotel to sell luxury items:
The queen-size “luxury bed skirt” sold by the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York City is priced at $230.
The “Heavenly Bed” at the Westin is a complete bedding experience, including mattress, pillow shams and 300-thread-count sheets, and sells for $2,895 for a queen-size bed.
At the Hilton, a digital alarm clock is $60.
A terry cloth, duck-shaped sponge at The Peabody will set a guest back $12. That hotel even offers a set of four stainless steel steak knives for $65.
