Williams, along with Preston Hardison, a Natural Resources Department employee, discuss the protection of tribal cultures around the world. Niki Cleary, a reporter for KANU-TV and other Tulalip-owned media, is the host of the program. Marysville Earth Day event at park An Earth Walk Adventure is planned for Saturday. The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ebey Waterfront Park, 1404 First St. The free event is organized by the Stilly-Snohomish Fisheries Enhancement Task Force, a volunteer organization that promotes salmon habitat restoration and several other organizations. Water-themed exhibits, bird watching, walking tours, games and more are planned. The Sierra Club, one of the sponsors, plans to show four short environmental films with free popcorn from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. More info: 360-363-8283. Arlington Police report fewer traffic accidents in 2007 Arlington police investigated 376 vehicle accidents in the city last year. The number of wrecks is nearly 10 percent fewer than was tallied in 2006. However, the accidents still caused more than $1.7 million in property damage. The accidents occurred primarily at intersections on 172nd Street, Highway 9, Smokey Point Boulevard and Highway 530. To help prevent accidents, police are asking drivers to pay attention, stop tailgating, follow speed limits and yield right-of-way when required. Water, sewer rates climb Each April, water and sewer rates in Arlington go up based on the previous year's cost of living increase. On April 1, the minimum two-month bill for water and sewer increased from $150.29 to $162.19. The minimum two-month bill sent to low-income seniors increased from $90.17 to $97.31.
