Man fleeing police crashes into traffic
By
Jackson Holtz
Herald Writer
EVERETT – A police chase this morning ended with a collision that’s blocking the intersection of 112th Street SW and Highway 99, officials said.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies spotted a suspected stolen vehicle just after 11 near the Everett Mall, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
When they tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver sped away south on Everett Mall Way and then onto Highway 99, she said.
The car crashed into oncoming traffic near the intersection of 112th. A woman was treated for minor injuries at the scene, Hover said.
The man was expected to be jailed for eluding police and possession of a stolen vehicle, Hover said.
The intersection likely will be closed for a few hours as collision detectives investigate.
