PREP SOFTBALL: Marysville-Pilchuck, Jackson advance to district title game

MONROE -- Marysville-Pilchuck, the third seed from the Wesco North, stunned Wesco South No. 2 seed Mountlake Terrace 3-2 in the quarterfinals, then upset Wesco North champion Monroe 1-0 in the semifinals Friday to advance to today's championship game in the 4A District 1 softball playoffs at Skykomish River Park.

M-P will play Wesco South champ Jackson, a 3-2 winner over Cascade and an 8-0 winner over Stanwood.

Cascade went on to eliminate Shorewood 9-5 while Mountlake Terrace survived a loser-out game against Kamiak, 5-1. They'll play the semifinal losers in consolation games today leading to a winner-to-state, loser-out third-place game this afternoon.
