Terrace, the District 1 champion, had won eight consecutive games and was trying to win a state-tourney game for the first time in program history. But the Hawks (17-7) helped Central Kitsap (20-6) by committing five errors and several baserunning blunders. "Too many mistakes," Terrace coach Andrew Watters said. "I tip my hat to Central Kitsap. They put the ball in play and they put pressure on us. They're a very good club."
