Political FYI: Everett lawyer seeks election to bench

An Everett lawyer is scheduled May 28 to kick off a 2008 campaign for judge with a reception between 5 and 7 p.m. at the Monte Cristo Hotel, 1507 Wall St., Everett.

Joe Wilson will seek the Snohomish County Superior Court seat of Judge Richard Thorpe, who has announced he will not try for another four-year term.

Wilson, 47, is a general practitioner with a private office in Everett.

Anyone who wishes to attend the reception is asked to RSVP to Kirk Shirley at 206-364-2344 or kirkshirley@comcast.net.

Wilson is one of at least three lawyers who have designs on the job. The others include Jim Johanson of Edmonds and George Appel, a deputy prosecuting attorney.
