NHL Draft: Chicago takes Silvertips Beach

Kyle Beach, the Everett Silvertips' hard-nosed winger, was taken with the 11th pick overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in Friday's first-round of the NHL draft.

Beach, who possesses a combination of size, strength, toughness and plenty of skill, was drafted about where most hockey experts predicted. Some had him going as high as fifth, but others had him being picked 10th, 11th or 12th.
