SEATTLE — A report for the city of Seattle says gang violence has increased in the past two or three years.
The report prepared for the city’s Human Services Department says more gang-prevention programs are needed.
The report will be discussed Tuesday at a meeting of the Public Safety Committee.
Another study conducted for the city found that 238 teens worked as prostitutes in the past year. The report based on police reports and case studies found that many girls have pimps who are affiliated with street gangs.
The report was commissioned by the city Department of Human Services and presented Thursday at a forum.
