Locker on O'Brien Award watch list

Posted at 12:42 pm by John Boyle

Huskies quarterback Jake Locker is one of 31 quarterbacks on the watch list for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, which came out today.

The O'Brien is given each year to college football's top quarterback. Semifinalists for the award will be named on Oct. 27, and finalists on Nov. 24.

Locker is one of four Pac-10 quarterbacks on the list along with Arizona State's Rudy Carpenter, USC's Mark Sanchez, Arizona's Willie Tuitama.

In yet another measure of how hard the UW's schedule is this season, the Huskies will also see O'Brien candidates in all three of their non-conference games (Sam Bradford, Oklahoma, Max Hall, BYU, and Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame).
