Mill Creek teens robbed at gunpoint

MILL CREEK – A Kirkland man was arrested this morning in connection with an armed robbery that apparently was interrupted when a Mill Creek police officer happened upon the scene.

The two boys and one girl, ages 14 and 15, were walking at 12:40 a.m. in the 2500 block of 139th Street SE, Mill Creek police spokeswoman Robin Swanson said.

Two men approached them and took one of the boy’s cell phone at gunpoint before running off as a police officer on patrol neared the area, Swanson said.

A Lynnwood police dog tracked down a pellet gun and a baseball bat before leading police to a Kirkland man, 19. That man was identified by the teenagers as the accomplice in the robbery, police said. Police are looking for another Kirkland man, 18, in connection with the incident.

No one was hurt.
