Silvertips announce their 2008-09 schedule

EVERETT -- The Everett Silvertips on Friday released their tentative 72-game schedule for the 2008-09 Western Hockey League season.

Everett opens the season on the road, traveling to Kamloops on Sept. 19. The Tips' first home game is the following night against Vancouver.

Among other schedule highlights: Memorial Cup champion Spokane comes to Everett four times, the first on Oct. 31; I-5 rival Seattle comes to Everett five times, the first on Sept. 27; and the Tips make their trip through the WHL's East Division from Nov. 5-14, playing all six teams.

The season concludes on March 15 at Seattle.

Game times have yet to be determined. Also, the location of games in Seattle is still up in the air, with the Kent Events Center, the Thunderbirds' new home, scheduled to open midseason.
