The Enterprise celebrates 50 years

In terms of the news, not much has changed in 50 years.

When the first edition of The Enterprise newspapers rolled off the press in the fall of 1958, the top story was that the proposed location of the still-in-the-works Stevens Memorial Hospital would soon be announced.

A brief on the front page stated that the Lynnwood Incorporation Committee was urging voters to approve the incorporation at the Nov. 4 general election.

Since The Enterprise debuted on Sept. 24, 1958, the local hospital continues to make headlines, and the politics of annexation and incorporation are still as relevant as ever.

As this newspaper celebrates its 50th anniversary, we take a look back at the cities we serve.
