Monica Novini, an ambitious Snohomish County master gardener, organized a series of free weekly classes at the Julia V. Morris Centennial Garden, a community garden in Monroe that provides vegetables for the Sky Valley Food Bank next door.
Novini, is continuing the Saturday-morning classes throughout the winter, too.
Starting now, veggie-gardening fans can read all about the classes and the garden, run in part by the Snohomish County Master Gardeners, at a newly established Web site at www.monicanovini.com/magicgarden
Though she is still finalizing upcoming classes for the remainder of the year, she expects to offer some indoor class sessions at a local senior center so participants can stay warm.
Future topic ideas include tool care, a catalog and seed exchange, herb propagation, garden design, insects, funky vegetables, mosaic tile in the garden, building raised beds and wildlife gardening.
Check future editions of Home & Garden calendar listings for class information or call Novini at 360-793-8757.
