Wednesday Willingham notes

Posted at 3:35 pm by John Boyle

Tyrone Willingham just finished up his usual briefing with reporters. The news today is that the Huskies could be pretty thin at tailback heading into the Apple Cup.

Brandon Johnson, last week's starter, missed yesterday's practice and will likely miss today's because of a death in the family. Terrance Dailey, who was limited last week by a hip injury, didn't do much work in yesterday's practice, Willingham said.

Willingham said it's too early to know who will start Saturday.

The Huskies got a bit of good news on Matt Mosley, who knee injury is to the medial collateral ligament and posterior cruciate ligament. Mosley is not expected to need surgery, though he is almost certainly out for the year. While no knee injury is good, that's a lot better than if he had torn his ACL, which, as we are seeing with Jason Wells this season, can affect a player a year after it happens.
