    Athletes of the Week

    Boys swimming

    Sean Nesheim of Cascade swam 4A state meet qualifying times in winning the 200-yard individual medley and 100 backstroke and swam on two winning relay teams in a 108-68 win over Mt. Vernon.

    Wrestling

    Jack Forrest of Everett had pins in 45 and 49 seconds in wins over Shorecrest and Shorewood.





    Girls bowling

    Breanne Mattson of Cascade rolled a 209 game and a 557 series in a 2-1 win over Everett and a 202 game and a 589 series in a 3-0 win over Jackson.



    Girls basketball

    Lindsey Newman of South Whidbey scored 26 points in a 54-37 loss to Interlake and 27 in a 50-37 win over Friday Harbor.





    Boys basketball

    Tomas Sanchez of Shorewood scored the game-winning basket with five seconds to play and had a game-high 25 points in a 51-50 win over Lake Sevens.
