Renee Roske, the Snohomish woman believed to have been running an illegal puppy mill, filed an appeal Tuesday to a county civil order in an effort to keep her kennel business.
This means she will keep her kennel license and not have to pay a $100 fine until her appeal is heard by a county hearing examiner.
Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives are investigating Roske and a multimillion-dollar dog breeding business, Wags ‘n’ Wiggles, which she ran from homes in Snohomish county.
Nearly 160 of Roske’s dogs were seized on Jan. 16 when Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies and animal control officers raided a home near Gold Bar. The raid kicked off an investigation in Snohomish and Skagit counties.
In total, nearly 600 dogs have been seized.
On Feb. 3, the county served Roske with an order revoking her kennel license and ordering her to pay the fine.
Animal cruelty charges have been filed in both counties. Roske’s mother, Marjorie Sundberg, is among those charged.
