MONROE — One person was hospitalized and another arrested after a crash on U.S. 2 early this morning.
The Washington State Patrol is investigated the collision that occurred around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection with Fern Bluff Road, trooper Keith Leary said.
A Monroe woman, 22, driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse apparently rear-ended a Volkswagen driven by a Yakima man, 21, Leary said.
Both cars crashed into the guard rails.
The man was taken to Valley General Hospital in Monroe. The woman was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault.
Troopers were at the crash scene for about an hour as they investigated.
