Finally, after a decade of trying to close this illegal puppy mill down because of continuing code violations — animal control officers have been successful. Jason and Serenna Larsen and Richard and Marjorie Sundberg have been charged. Renee Roske, who hasn’t been charged, and the Sundbergs lost their kennel license, which means giving up their dogs — all but three!
To prevent violations in the future, I would hope that these three dogs will be spayed or neutered so they cannot be bred. Also, from the millions which were made from the sale of these dogs, the kennel owners should be required to make restitution to the shelters, animal organizations, veterinary hospitals as well as the foster families for the expenses which they have incurred in rescuing and saving these dogs. Roske wants to keep her kennel license — I’m hoping that won’t happen — no license again — ever.
Those who do not have a voice should not have to suffer due to the greed of humans who profit from their abuse. Make sure this does not happen again in our county or any other county in the state of Washington.
