MARYSVILLE — Fire investigators still are trying to determine what sparked a blaze that destroyed an abandoned home late Tuesday.
Flames had burst through the back of the house when crews arrived just before 11 p.m. near the intersection of 172nd Street NE and 25th Avenue NE, Marysville Fire District spokeswoman Kristen Thorstenson said.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, she said. About 25 crews responded and no one was hurt.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
“Abandoned structures can be more than an eyesore,” Thorstenson said. “They can be a nuisance and a safety hazard. They should be boarded up and secure.”
