SEATTLE — A Granite Falls man who sent more than 8,000 images of child pornography over the Internet was sentenced Friday to more than seven years in federal prison.
Gordon Lee Parkin, 49, must register as a sex offender when he is released and must be supervised by correction officials for the rest of his life.
Parkin was arrested in 2008. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents discovered that he was using a chat room to send thousands of images of child pornography, including movies. He also had more than 200 pictures of children in the neighborhood.
Parkin also may be required to pay restitution to the victims depicted in the images.
