Film fare: For for its Family Movie Night, The Everett Public Library will show "City of Ember" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. It's the year 2416 and the underground city of Ember is in danger of losing its power. Tim Robbins and Harry Treadaway set about to save the city by finding a way out.

The free film will be shown in the library's main auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Call 425-257-8000, or check the Web site, www.epls,org, for more library events.

Take in the trash: Joy Knight helps school-age children create masterpieces from found objects at several of the Sno-Isle libraries this week: Join her at 2 p.m. Monday at the Mukilteo Library, 11 a.m. Tuesday at Marysville, 2 p.m. Tuesday at Monroe, 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lake Stevens, 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sultan, 11 a.m. Saturday at Brier and 1 p.m. Saturday at Mountlake Terrace.

Warbling: Here's another chance to see Marysville author Victoria Simcox when she brings her children's fantasy novel, "The Magic Warble" ($16.95), to The BookWorks in Marysville from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Twelve-year-old Kristina is transported to a Narnia kind of place and finds adventure and friendship as she seeks to return the magic "warble" to its rightful place.

Simcox will sign books and hand out bookmarks and special "warble" bracelets to kids.
