Employers expected to attend include Aldo Shoes, Aerospace Manufacturing Technologies, Aviation Technical Services, the Boeing Co., Bowman Manufacturing, City of Marysville, Comcast Cable, Damar Aerosystems, EvCC, Federal Aviation Administration, Lowe's and WorkSource. Bothell: UW Bothell day at the Aquasox Alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the University of Washington Bothell are invited to cheer on the Everett Aquasox as they take on the Eugene Emeralds on Aug. 8 at Memorial Stadium in Everett. An all-you-can eat barbecue will begin at 6 p.m. and the game starts at 7 p.m. More info: alumni@uwb.edu. Darrington: Register for Cascades bike ride The Whitehorse-To-Whitechuck Ride has been scheduled for Sept. 12. This ride is a non-competitive road tour with 12-, 22-, and 28-mile routes through the North Cascades. The race is open to people of all ages and abilities. Proceeds benefit youth activities in Darrington. Registration is $40 for adults, $25 for children 12 and under and $100 for a family of two adults and two children. Early registration is advised. Marysville: District schools receives grant The Marysville School District is a partner in a $152,000 grant program to help recruit minority teachers and get them into the profession. The grant was funded by College Spark Washington. Project partners include Everett Community College and Central Washington University. Monroe: Community band fundraiser The Monroe Community Concert Band is hosting a music jam fundraiser 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the New Hope Fellowship Church, 1012 W. Main St., Monroe. Listen to the music while sampling the sweets for sale. There will also be electronics, appliances, kids' clothes and toys and sports equipment for sale. Proceeds will support the upcoming symphonic season. Snohomish: Single lane on Airport Way Airport Way at the Snohomish River Bridge will be down to a single lane from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Friday.
