Washington ranks 9th tax-“friendliest” state for biz

Posted at 11:26 am by Michelle Dunlop

State government leaders have another feather in their collective cap as they try to convince the Boeing Co. that Washington is where it should locate its second 787 production line.

The Tax Foundation has ranked Washington among the 10 best business climate states in the nation, according to the non-profit group’s Web site.

Washington moved up three spots to 9, surpassing potential 787 second line rival states Texas (rank 11) and South Carolina (rank 26).

South Dakota grabbed the top spot as the state with the most business-friendly tax policies. And New Jersey got the bottom spot.
