Republican John Koster was leading his opponent Ellen Hiatt Watson while Democrats Dave Somers and Dave Gossett were leading their opponents Bob Meador and Steve Dana. There were dozens of city, school and special district elections being decided in the general election around Snohomish County. Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson was far ahead of his opponent Jim Johnson in his attempt at re-election. For the Everett School Board, incumbent Karen Madsen trailed activist Jessica Olson. Jeff Russell narrowly led his opponent Pam LeSesne for an open seat on the board. Two mayors around the county were losing in their bids for re-election. Monroe Mayor Donnetta Walser was behind her opponent Robert G. Zimmerman in the early returns. Café owner Saleem Haroon was leading in his bid to unseat Granite Falls Mayor Lyle Romack. All WA incumbents need to be voted out of office. Two senators need to go. And, Congressman Rick Larsen is serving his fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives who DOES NOT represent the PEOPLE of the Second Congressional District of Washington state, which stretches from northern Snohomish County clear to the Canadian border, encompassing all of Skagit, Island, San Juan and Whatcom counties. He has been in office 10 years, and is now trying to take away TRICARE and access to MTF by vets. He is liberal to a fault - vote him out Nov 2010.
