Patrick Larson, Jr., 28, allegedly drove into some city garbage cans around 5:15 a.m. in the 8500 block of 79th Street NE and then drove off, according to a police report. After being handcuffed, police said Larson, who's running against incumbent Jeff Seibert in the city council race on today's ballot, told an officer, “You're a dummy, tomorrow is election day.” Marysville police said they quickly tracked down Larson's car at his home, the report said. Larson told police he had not recently driven the SUV. He could not be reached for comment for this story. Police officers said the damage to Larson's car matched the damage to the garbage cans. Pieces of what were believed to be Larson's vehicle were found near the damaged cans, the police report said. Larson appeared to have been drinking, the police report said. While police were talking with him about the damaged vehicle, Larson allegedly kept using police terminology, the report said. Officers placed Larson in handcuffs and he allegedly started to yell, claiming that any charges would be dropped on a technicality. Police drove him to Marysville City Jail. Larson posted bond and was released from the jail around 8:15 a.m., Marysville Police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said. The candidate has a previous conviction for reckless driving. The violation occurred April 23. He did not serve any jail time for the incident, he said recently. He has been assessed a $493 fine. Herald reporter Bill Sheets contributed to this story. Just wondering Mr. Larson calling the police dummies for doing their job is a little ignorant on your part isnt it? Im glad your behind on the election for being a neiboring city I wouldnt want to work with you! You position works with all types including the authoriaties and if your starting off by insulting thoes who risk their lives every single day is your way of handeling difficult situations then you should seriously think about a diffrent line of work. Im wondering if you were drunk when you hit the garbedge cans? This is not a good example for our community which is what you wanted to represent right? Was he supposed to call 911 and report that he hit a garbage can? I'll make sure the next time I hit a squirel that I call 911 so I don't get arrested for hit and run....what a joke..... "Police Terminology", I simply asked that I be mirandized before being arrested and questioned concerning any incident. This is not "police terminology". This is a term for a legal function that must be dispensed by an arresting officer. Idiots. And...yes, I had been drinking. On my Friday night, at my own home, and was sound asleep when the Marysville Police knocked on my door. MPD brought up the election, not me. When asked why I was asleep if I was drinking, to a sideways comment from an officer Thomas, I did respond, "tomorrow is election day, dummy". That part is true. Lol. How did the cops know a hit and run had taken place? 2. you mentioned, "The cops quickly found the SUV at Larson's house". a. How did they know it was an SUV that they were looking for? This, I guess, relates to question 1. b. Was it in the driveway or in his garage? Based on the information in the article I have to assume it was in the driveway. 3. You mentioned that the cops thought they believe alcohol was involved. Was he arrested for DUI? if not, why not? I guess that's a question for the police who arrested him. I'm only asking these questions because I live in the neighborhood and this guy came banging on our door wanting our support in the election LOL!
