This week's featured new home is a three-bedroom, two-bath rambler near Stanwood that commands a 180-degree view of Port Susan and Skagit Bay, Camano and Whidbey islands and the Olympic Mountains. The oversized lot allows for an offset three-car garage as well as parking for an RV, boat, trailer or other toy.

The front door is flanked by vertical windows, and the foyer includes cherry flooring with maple and marble tile inlays.

Straight ahead is a living room with soaring vaulted ceiling and a wall of windows that frames a magnificent view in the distance. The room also has a gas fireplace trimmed with a granite tile hearth and border with wrap-around wood mantel.

Steps away is the kitchen, oriented toward the living room. An extended two-tiered breakfast bar is topped with slab granite, as are all counters. Other features include a tile backsplash, Shaker-style maple paneled cabinets with crown molding, indirect lighting, stainless steel and black appliances, and a pantry closet enclosed with a frosted glass door.

An informal dining nook off the kitchen has hardwood flooring and a storefront door that opens to a partially covered, entertainment-sized Trex deck with aluminum railing and plumbing for a gas barbecue.

The formal dining room is finished with hardwood flooring, a coffered ceiling with crown molding and an Alabaster chandelier with brushed nickel accents. This wing of the rambler is completed with two additional bedrooms served by a full bathroom, and a spacious home office with paned glass door and two large windows facing the view. A second glass door in the office opens to the deck.

A bedroom suite is situated at the opposite side of the house to assure privacy and more water views. Its spacious sleeping area is augmented by a walk-in wardrobe closet with built-in wood organizer systems on three walls.

Completing the suite is a five-piece bathroom with 18-inch custom ceramic tile flooring, an extended double vanity topped with tile, jetted soaker tub and a freestanding shower highlighted by point-on-point and mosaic tile handiwork.

A large utility room includes a built-in laundry tub with laminate surface and maple paneled overhead cabinets. The room accesses the three-car garage, which includes the home's natural gas furnace and hot water tank.
