HEALTH INSURANCE

Requirement to buy is ridiculous

I cannot understand why someone has not challenged the mandatory health insurance law in Massachusetts. This requirement and that proposed as a part of Obamacare are in effect a tax for being alive. Will we be jailed if we refuse to buy health insurance and refuse to pay the fine?

The auto insurance requirement analogy put forth by the proponents is baloney. Millions of people in this country do not purchase auto insurance. You are only required to buy auto insurance if you voluntarily choose to own a vehicle and voluntarily choose to operate it on public roads. In fact, motorcycle riders and owners are not required to purchase insurance in some states (e.g. Washington).
