Monday is Pearl Harbor Day, marking the Japanese attack on Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941, that drew the United States into World War II. Here are area events:
Arlington: Stillaguamish Valley Pioneers plan a Military Day, including a Pearl Harbor remembrance, from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at Pioneer Hall, 20722 67th Ave. NE.
Camano Island: A commemoration ceremony is planned for 3 p.m. Monday at St. Aidan Episcopal Church, 1318 Highway 532. Members of the North Cascades Chapter of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association plan to speak.
Everett: A ceremony is planned at 11 a.m. Monday at the Eternal Flame on the Snohomish County campus, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.
Naval Station Everett: A remembrance ceremony is planned for 9 a.m. Monday with survivors and family members in attendance.
Oak Harbor: Whidbey Island Naval Air Station will join Electronic Attack Squadron 129 (VAQ-129) and the Pearl Harbor Survivors’ Association, North Cascades Chapter 5, at 10 a.m. Monday at the Crescent Harbor Marina on the Seaplane Base, 150 W. Tulagi. A reception immediately follows at the PBY Museum in Building 12 on the top of the hill at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.
Supply ships visited Everett: The USNS Shasta and USNS Rainier were docked at Naval Station Everett this week.
