What if robots go haywire? 12/6/09
Tennessee mayor rips into Obama for preempting ‘Peanuts' special 12/6/09
State may ban devices that fool drug tests 12/6/09

Good grief!

The Conspiracy Theorist is in: A mayor in Tennessee protested on Facebook when President Barack Obama's speech Tuesday on Afghanistan preempted the broadcast of the holiday classic “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” saying the president sought to block the cartoon's Christian message because he is a Muslim.

Obama, of course, is not a Muslim, but we've had our suspicions about Linus ever since he put that blanket on his head to play a shepherd.

  • Objection, (whir, click) your honor: As robots become more common in our day-to-day lives, whether vacuuming floors, stocking shelves or building cars, scientists and legal scholars are asking what should happen if a robot causes damage or injures someone.

We aren't sure, but we hope it involves a robot lawyer that looks like Perry Mason.

  • Is that a Whizzinator in your pants? A Missouri lawmaker has proposed legislation that would make it illegal to use devices that help people falsify drug tests, such as the Whizzinator. The Whizzinator includes a male prosthetic, a bag of dried urine and a heating pad to warm the urine when water is added.

Sounds like a law's a good idea, but anybody who has to walk around with all that down his pants has bigger problems than passing a drug test.
