Police believe an illegal marijuana-growing operation likely sparked a two-alarm blaze Tuesday that tore through an Arlington home, displacing a family of four.
As firefighters worked to douse the blaze in the 7000 block of Condor Drive, they found evidence of the grow, Arlington city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.
Police were called and a search warrant was obtained to enter the home, Banfield said.
When detectives searched inside, they said they found around 100 plants in various stages of growth, plus special air ventilation systems, illegal wiring and commercial lighting all tucked into a crawl space.
Detectives continue to investigate and no arrests have been made.
