PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Woeck leads Mountlake Terrace past Meadowdale

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Andrew Woeck pitched a complete game with 14 strikeouts to just one walk in propelling his Mountlake Terrace squad to a 5-2 Wesco South win over Meadowdale Tuesday at Mountlake Terrace H.S.

Woeck allowed just two runs on five hits in going the distance to earn his fourth win of the season.

Keegan Volpone provided all the run production the Hawks would need, batting 2-for-2 with a triple, home run and four RBI. His two-run triple in the first inning put Mountlake Terrace ahead and gave Woeck the breathing room he needed to attack the Meadowdale hitters.

The home run and sacrifice fly in his following at bats were just added bonuses for the Hawks offense. The win puts Mountlake Terrace in a three-way tie for second place with Meadowdale and Kamiak, which beat Jackson 14-1 Tuesday.

Up next for Mountlake Terrace is a game with the league-leading Jackson Timberwolves (7-2) at home on Friday.
