Registry helps couples have dream honeymoons

Many couples are getting married later in life these days.

That often means they don’t need the blenders, dish sets and hand towels they would normally acquire through a wedding registry.

In response to this trend, couples are asking their guests to give them money for their otherwise-out-of-reach honeymoons instead.

But what fun is that for guests?

Well, for friends and family of couples who use Honeyfund.com, it’s pretty sweet, actually.

This free honeymoon registry allows guests to give couples funds earmarked for a variety of travel expenses.

For example, if your soon-to-be newlywed friends are headed for New Zealand, you can pay for dinner at the Matterhorn, a pub crawl, a romantic beach horseback-riding trip, sea kayaking or a night in boutique hotel of the couple’s choice.

You can help with mundanities such as purchasing luggage, car rentals or gift certificates with your own suggestions enclosed.

Couples build their registries from destinations around the world using sample registries full of ideas.

Family and friends give through PayPal, checks in the mail or cash.
