One of two men injured in a fatal car crash Saturday in south Snohomish County is likely to be at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for at least another month.
“He’s doing as good as we expected with his injuries and the best we can hope for,” said Lecia Moore, mother of Trevor Moore, 21.
He was a passenger in a 1993 Volkswagen Corrado coupe that went off the road and into a tree along North Road near 176th Street SW east of Lynnwood shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.
The crash killed driver Brandon Norton, 22, and passenger Ehlo Blacknall, 20, on impact. A third passenger, Tyler Gilbert, 20, is recovering at home with a broken neck and back.
Lecia Moore said Tuesday that doctors put her son on a ventilator after he suffered two skull fractures and brain swelling. He had surgery Tuesday on a broken thigh bone. Doctors placed her son into an induced coma to protect his brain.
“We don’t know if he’ll be in the hospital for anther month or two months,” she said. “We don’t know the extent of whether there’s brain damage.”
A memorial service for Brandon Norton will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at North Creek Presbyterian Church, 621 164th St. SE, Mill Creek.
Services for Blacknall are being arranged.
