EVERETT — An Everett man was picked up by police Wednesday after he reportedly hit a man with a baseball bat during an argument over a handheld video game console.
The suspect, 37, later told police he thought the victim had stolen his son’s PlayStation Portable.
The two men got into a confrontation about it Tuesday night, and the man hit the victim in the head with a baseball bat, according to an Everett police affidavit. He then chased the man down 26th Street and onto Lombard Avenue before punching him and taking his cell phone. The victim was hospitalized for multiple facial injuries.
The man was later arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault with a weapon. Bail was set Thursday at $100,000.
