MONROE — Police in Monroe say they’ve busted up a suspected trading post for guns and drugs.
They searched a home Wednesday in the 17700 block of Tester Road in Monroe. It was one of three search warrants served in the case.
Monroe police believe a man who lived at the home had been b
artering heroin for stolen guns, spokeswoman Debbie Willis said Friday.
Investigators in February learned that several guns had been stolen from a home along 105th Street SE in Monroe.
That led them to another Monroe home, where they found five stolen guns, ammunition and heroin, as well as scales and other drug paraphernalia.
A Monroe man, 23, was arrested at the home for investigation of multiple weapons crimes, Willis said. He was being held Friday at Snohomish County Jail on $15,000 bail.
A few days later, another Monroe man, 25, was arrested in connection with the case. He was being held Friday for investigation of firearm theft and unlawful possession of a firearm. Monroe police have recommended prosecutors charge him with nine counts of each crime. His bail was set at $20,000.
Next up was a 30-plant marijuana growing operation in Snohomish last week, Willis said. Police found three more stolen guns while searching two homes in the 12800 block of 198th Street SE.
The final search warrant was served Wednesday on Tester Road. The search yielded a host of guns, stolen gun parts and ammunition, Willis said. Officers also found heroin, marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and cash. They also seized two cars and a motorcycle.
A Monroe man, 26, was arrested for investigation of possession of drugs with intent to deliver. He was booked into Snohomish County Jail early Thursday morning.
The case remains under investigation.
