Councilman Ron Gipson isn’t afraid to ask those questions that probably a lot of us have asked ourselves. Last night at City Council he wanted to know why Snohomish County Sheriff deputies were handing out speeding tickets along Evergreen Way. Shouldn’t that be the city’s revenue?
Then Councilwoman Brenda Stonecipher chimed in with her own questions. Why do Washington State Patrol and sheriff’s deputies set up speed traps in Everett city limits, even downtown? She said she could understand officers from other jurisdictions ticketing bad behavior when they happen to come upon it, but speed traps?
