Regarding the April 21 article, “Snohomish schools chief promises that swim center will be built“:
I want to thank Superintendent Mester and the Aquatic Committee from Snohomish for two reasons: 1) Expanding the swimming pool project to an aquatic center that will appeal to everyone of all ages and abilities.
2) To make this a self-supporting facility.
Yes, that means it should make a profit to pay for future maintenance/operating costs. Hopefully the school district will not have to come to the voters and ask for a maintenance/operating levy.
