MARYSVILLE – An early morning death in Marysville involving a train and a pedestrian is being investigated as a possible suicide, police said.
The incident was reported around 3 a.m. Wednesday. The person hit was male. His age and identity were not immediately available.
Detectiv
es and the city’s Collision Investigation Team were at the crash scene around Fourth Street in Marysville.
“Preliminarily it appears this was a suicide event,” Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.
The train remained in place on the tracks, from just north of Fourth Street to just south of 88th Street after the accident.
Main arterials were not blocked.
“It is hoped the effects to the morning commute will be minimal,” Lamoureux said.
