EVERETT — A house fire displaced six people east of Everett on Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 10:50 a.m. at a split-entry house in the 11300 block of 27th Avenue SE, east of Silver Lake.
Firefighters from Snohomish County fire districts 1 and 7 extinguished the fire in about 15 minutes. Flames were contained to the garage and a bedroom, District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said. No injuries were reported.
Damage was estimated at $225,000, including furniture and a 1993 Mercedes. The family had insurance, Hynes said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, she said. There is nothing suspicious, but the investigation will have to wait until crews can safely remove the burned car, which was leaking fuel.
