Outstanding distance runner Amy-Eloise Neale is taking her skills international.
Neale, who just finished her sophomore year at Glacier Peak High School, was selected by the British National Team to compete for the United Kingdom in the 2-kilometer steeplechase in July at the IAAF World Youth Championships in France.
Neale and her parents lived in Manchester, England, until Neale was 2. That’s when she moved to Snohomish.
According to the IAAF article, Neale is ranked fourth in the world in her age group in the 2K steeplechase. She “achieved the [World Youth Championships] qualifying standard in the 2000m Steeplechase by clinching silver in the highly competitive American School National Championships.”
