SULTAN — Officials Friday identified the body of a man found dead in Elk Creek on Thursday.
Michael Antonelli, 36, of Edmonds, was found a few miles east of Spada Lake, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
His cause of death was freshwater drowning caused by blunt-force injuries, officials said. His death was ruled an accident.
City of Everett watershed patrol officers discovered the body Thursday morning about 100 yards downstream from Antonelli’s campsite, officials said.
Antonelli went camping over the July 4 holiday weekend near Boulder Lake.
Authorities believe he may have accidentally fallen into a creek near his campsite.
