USS Lincoln is home
There she is. The USS Abraham Lincoln docked Friday morning after training at sea near Los Angeles.
Spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Steve Curry says 45,000 folks visited the ship during Navy week in L.A.. Sailors did community projects in the area, saw a Dodgers baseball game and attended the taping of “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno.
Curry says it should be in port for a month before heading out for more exercises at sea.

It begins at noon at Les Schwab, 4933 196th St. SW in Lynnwood.
They want to make sure every boy who wants to play gets a chance.
Drop money in the boot: Snohomish Firefighters will be out and about seeking donations at a Fill the Boot fundraiser to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
They plan to be out from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday at Second Street and Avenue D in Snohomish.
National Spirit of ’45 Day: Last summer, Congress passed a resolution to mark the second Sunday of August as a day to commemorate the efforts of veterans who served in World War II. The first National Spirit of ’45 Day is Sunday.
The Granite Falls Historical Museum is planning to show World War II videos from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 109 E. Union St. in Granite Falls.
