LYNNWOOD — Two people were seriously injured after a car was dragged by a semitruck on I-5 in Lynnwood on Monday night. Traffic is going to be slowed in the area for some time, troopers said.
The wreck was reported just before 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway near 164th Street SW.
The driver of a Honda apparently lost control and ended up under the semi’s rear trailer wheels, said trooper Keith Leary with the Washington State Patrol. The Honda was dragged about 600 feet.
The Honda’s driver and the passenger were taken by ambulance to a Seattle hospital. One of them was believed to be in critical condition.
Detectives around 7:30 p.m. were en route to the scene, Leary said. Traffic was moving through two outside lanes.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. More details were not immediately available.
