People involved with Occupy Everett say that they plan to take down tents at the Snohomish County administration campus and instead erect a community tent.
Here’s what a press release said about their plans:
“Over the last few months Occupy Everett has drawn peoples’ attention to the attacks on our Democracy by the elite who make up the 1% and their political allies. Occupy Everett has also been focused on how the weakest among us are under constant assault by these forces and how this has driven them into desperation and despair. This focus has taken Occupy Everett’s attention away from the loss of our Democracy by the corporate greed, political corruption and blatant criminal actions that have caused and continue to cause the disintegration of our country.
“With the New Year, Occupy Everett will enter into a new phase of our movement by re-focusing and re-doubling our efforts to engage the public in political discussions and direct actions that seek to highlight our local and national problems while also working to solve them. To this end, Occupy Everett will be taking down our personal tents and, instead, erecting a new Community Tent which shall remain on site at 3000 Rockefeller Ave (the Snohomish County Administration campus).
“On Friday, December 30th @ 4:00PM – Ed Bremer of Public Radio KSER Everett will perform a live radio call-in show from our encampment. Listeners will be able to ask questions of Occupy Everett and get more details of our future plans.
“People can also visit the Occupy Everett Facebook page; they can also call us at (425) 312-3837; write to us at P.O. BOX 2537 Everett, WA 98213 or watch our live broadcasts at www.livestream.com keyword: occupyeverettwa for additional information.”
