College choir in Lynnwood: The 49-voice Willamette University Chamber Choir and Willamette Singers, under the direction of Wallace Long, will perform at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at Lynnwood’s Trinity Lutheran Church. Choirs from Edmonds Community College, Cascade High School, and Mountain View High School will also perform. Concert will open with a vocal jazz performance by the Willamette Singers. The concert is free and open to the public; goodwill donations accepted. Music will include sacred and secular pieces. The Willamette Chamber Choir toured South Africa in 2004 at the invitation of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. There will be CDs available, including one with music from the South Africa tour. Parenting series: Bethany Christian Assembly in Everett will present “Have a New Kid by Friday,” a parenting series on DVD conducted by psychologist and author Kevin Leman.
