A Sno Ball’s chance in bankruptcy

Twinkies may be around longer than Hostess: Hostess, maker of the perpetually shelf-stable Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread, is declaring bankruptcy, a victim of Americans' improving attitudes about food and nutrition. More are choosing energy bars and yogurt for snacks and whole-wheat bread over white.

Recognizing the change in tastes, Hostess announced its brand new yogurt-filled whole-wheat Twinkie and its gluten-free free-range Ding Dongs.

Old McDonald had a wedding venue: The Snohomish County Council approved new zoning regulations that clarified rules for businesses that offer weddings on agricultural and rural land. Previously, the rules said weddings had to be completely indoors or completely outdoors, which some found confusing.

Left in the rules, however, was the requirement that weddings on agricultural land not allow any activities that might startle the horses.

I'm a Barbie girl: Two women have launched a Facebook campaign to convince Mattel to make a bald Barbie doll as a way to raise awareness of children who are fighting cancer.

Mattel did not return calls seeking comment, but a spokesboy for the National Association of Little Brothers with Scissors offered their services toward the cause.
