CAMANO ISLAND — People on the island should prepare for a power outage today.
Snohomish County Public Utility District plans to replace a conductor on a major transmission line serving Camano Island.
PUD officials estimate it will take from about five to seven hours to do the job. During that time, nobody on the island will have power, said PUD spokesman Neil Neroutsos.
The work is expected to begin around 10 p.m. Wednesday and be completed by 5 a.m. Thursday.
If customers are dependent on power for life support, they should plan to make other arrangements for the night.
Additionally, because of where the conductor is located, the PUD plans to close one lane of the Mark Clark Bridge beginning at about 8 p.m. The lane closure could cause delays for drivers.
